Ever since I first heard "Ruins of My Life" I latched onto this group. It's one of the most amazing songs I've ever heard. Not long ago my only major exposure to this kind of melodic metal was groups like Dream Theater (incredible musicians, mostly excellent songwriting). What a rush to find a whole European wave. "Silver Tongue" is one of my other favorites from this album, but I can listen to "Ruins..." over and over and not get tired of it. Someone else mentioned Scorpion, and the vocals do remind me alot of them in spots, but Sonata Arctica has much more going on in their songs, and they have a certain something that lifts them above that classic German group. Definitely a stellar album from an amazing group.
