A Band That Is Going To Be HUGE For Century Media! 4 STARS.

This band, I think, will wind up one of the best sellers for this label, just as Iced Earth and others. You take Kamelot, Stratovarius, a pinch of Symphony X, and some Rhapsody-style drumming, and you have Sonata Arctica: a killer band with enormous potential to take it way farther than they have already. I loved every song on this one. They take you up and down through the whole album. A lot of other power metal acts do this also, but they do it in a more clear style. Their sound is unique and they know when to cool it, and smooth in to a killer power ballad. Listen to the melody on, Tallulah, then the next track that blasts you into oblivion, Wolf&Raven. Perfect comparison. The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star, masterpiece of a rating is, because I felt they could have taken this album even farther, maybe ending it with a 24 minute epic, in the tradition of Dream Theater or Symphony X: they're that good. Don't let this one NOT be in the power metal section of your CD rack, it's an essential must-own for any fan of this genre, or the bands I've mentioned in this review. **** 4 STAR ESSENTIAL ARCTICA RATING FROM SCRAGGY'S TOMB OF POWER METAL, USA!
