I'm impressed with this CD. I found out about Nightwish a year ago from an internet friend and WOW what a great album Century Child is! All the songs are wonderful. The female singer has a brilliant voice, very pretty and effective, and she sings over heavy guitar riffs. Not just heavy, but HEAVY! From the riff at the very beginning of the first song you know this is gonna be one rockin' album!This CD has another singer too. A male singer, who reminds me of Meatloaf for some reason (even though he doesn't really sound like Meatloaf). Whether it's the female or male singer, all the songs on Century Child are very melodic and fun to hear. I especially like the final 10-minute song which goes through a series of different vocal melodies, and all the melodies are pleasant. Come to think of it, all the melodies on the whole album are pleasant! When the female vocals on this album are slow, they sound pretty and sad, and when the female vocals are fast, they make you feel energetic. That's a sign of a great band. Pick up Century Child.
