When I bought this CD I also purchased Centuary Child, Ocean Born and the From Wishes To Eternity DVD and already had Wishmaster. Since this was the oldest of Nightwish's work I kind of let it sit around for a while. Recently it has become one of my favorites. Elvenpath: Elvenpath path is a Nightwish classic with fantastic (heavy)guitar work by Emppu and hard driving perfectly sung vocals by Tarja. Simply fantastic! I was kind of new to music this hard and initially didn't like Elvenpath. But it has become a favorite. Beauty and the Beast: It's ok. Tarja's voice is the best in the world and I would just as soon forget about any mediocare male vocalist who sings with her. I can tolerate Toumas because without him there would be no Nightwish... If you can slog through or like male vocals mixed with Tarja this song has some great synth work and guitar work. I'll take my Tarja straight (or neat as the Brits say) thank you. The Carpenter: Toumas's vocals are a little tentative but have a charming quality. Tarja vocals are good with good guitar and keyboard efforts by Emppu and Toumas. Overall I like this song and it has intersting lyrics. Astral Romance: Great although relatively short vocal section by Tarja (partly with Toumas) fantastic keyboards by Toumas and guitar by Emppu. From four minutes in to the end of the song are some of the best guitar work you can ever hear with equally fantastic accompanying keyboard work by Toumas. This is a fantastic song. Like usual from Nightwish. Angels Fall First: Kind of slower balady song with emphasis on Tarjas vocals accompanied with orchestral synths and accoustic guitar. Good song. Tutankhamen: This song is a little wearing to me. The Egyptian sort of tone just doesn't appeal to me very much. My son who is a supreme metal fan likes it though. I think it is a good creative effort. Nymphomaniac Phantasia: Lyrics at the end are a bit severe for a male... But very passionately done by Tarja. Great Song. Great Synth work by Toumas with a great flute accompaniment by Mr. Esa Lehtinen. This is a great song. Nightingale Sings: Fantastic Song. Great soaring vocals by Tarja. Emppu is fantastic with great keyboard support by Toumas. Lappi Series: Great relaxing vocals sung by Tarja with acoustic guitar by Emppu. You won't go wrong buying this CD. This,like all Nightwish CDs is well done. Tarja Turunen is the best female vocalist I have ever heard. My favorite songs on this CD are the Nightwish classic Elvenpath, Asral Romance, Nymphomaniac Fantasia, Nightengale and the Lapi Songs.
