Added Monday, October 04, 2004 Since the release of Nemo, the first single from the new album, fans from all around the world started to enjoy part of the new masterpiece from Nightwish, and lots of good reviews appeared on the net and magazines. In Finland, Nemo became Gold in the first week, and Platinum a few weeks later. It was a good thing, but not too surprising since Nightwish is a finish band. But then charts from other countries started to show that Nemo was having great success in many places (Sweden, Hungary, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, UK).
Then, finally, Once was released, and of course, it also get gold and platinum (even double platinum) really fast in Finland. Then it also get on top of the charts in Greece, Germany, Norway, Slovakia, Switzerland and Hungary. The album also get on the of the Billboard list of best-seller albums and singles (screenshot here).
Nemo video reached the number 1 position at MTV Brasil, and won the Audience Choice award in Finland; and Once sold Platinum in Germany (200.000 albums sold).
It is pretty evident that the latest album from Nightwish is their biggest success and is giving them a lot of new fans all around the world.
What can be expected for Nightwish in the future? Lots of things to come for them, surely. The song Wish I Had An Angel as part of the Alone In The Dark soundtrack will be a good way of promote their music to people that never heard them before.
