Okay, St. Anger has been out for more than a year now. And yet, the album still gets at least three new reviews each day, a good 3/4 of which are negative. That's all good and dandy, I myself gave the album a 2 star rating and still stand by it to this day, but come on people. How come every time somebody writes a review giving the album anything higher than a 2 star rating, he/she is automatically flooded with about 10 or 15 "Not Helpful" votes regardless of how well written and legitimate the review is? News Flash: Opinions of music are at least 75% subjective. St. Anger is definitely no masterpiece, but it isn't so bad that absolutely no halfway normal human being could possibly enjoy it. And when all is said and done, the enjoyment factor is what matters most in music. Is somebody not allowed to just naturally enjoy an album solely because you yourself didn't? Just because somebody likes St. Anger (and the Load twins for that matter) doesn't necessarily mean he's been "Brainwashed by MTV" or has never heard Master of Puppets before. Perhaps the album's sound and music just somehow struck a chord with that person and he found him/herself naturally enjoying it. My enjoyment of Load came largely from my being a fan of bluesy rock, not being brainwashed by MTV. As it stands, I think ST. Anger is a very mediocre album. But seriously, base your "Helpful/Not Helpful" voting on the actual quality of the review. Not just whether you agree with it.
