1.) Metallica did not "invent" Thrash/Speed Metal, they popularized it. Venom and Motorhead started laying the foundation for Thrash/Speed Metal from 1979-1982. 2.) In the 1980's, Metallica achieved success by ripping off N.W.O.B.H.M. (New wave of British heavy Metal) material like early Venom, Motorhead, Diamond head, and Judas priest (British steel) and beating the Brits to U.S. audiences. Once again, f**k Metallica.
