i was having a good old fashioned metallica conversation at work one day. my friend, a HUGE metallica fan, was telling me about how he purchased st. anger on midnight of the day it came, literally buying it the 'minute' it was officially released. details from him were pretty sketchy about how it was so i said 'hey, let me pop it in, i wanna hear it.'

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! Please, please do not put that cd in!! No!"

So I put the cd in the cd player. And I should have listened. Not only is this the worst piece of corporate radio fodder garbage album that metallica has put out, but it is now in my top 20 'worst albums i've ever heard.' if you thought load/reload were bad and said to your self 'well, atleast now they have no where else to go but back up' then you are horribly wrong. i dont know what happened to them. they've abandoned every thing that made them awesome, made them METALLICA. james' lyrics are very lame. "My life style determins my death style".....Huh? Kirks guitar playing is uninspired. Their new bassist that looks like donkey kong can barely be heard because of Lars' very Einsturzende Neubauten inspired garbage can metal sheet drum set.
If you still wonder what i'm trying to say in my review, then i want you to know I hated this album and if you have half a brain in your head, then you will too.

on another note, dont bother pretending to like this album just so you can be 'loyal' to the band. anyone that discovered metallica in their early-pre Justice days will most likely wonder WTF happened to these guys.
