"You're not Metallica! What have you done with our heros!!" David St. Hubbins couldn't have said it better. This CD is complete crap!! I mean, I had to listen to it twice to make sure that I hated it as much as I did. Whoever said that this was Metallica's return to form needs to have their head examined, and then be labled the one true moron of the century! As far as I'm concerned, And Justice for All was the last great Metallica CD. The Black Album was good at best, but was defenitly not their best, and don't get me started on Crap & Recrapped (That's Load & Reload respectfully). There was no highlight for me anywhere on this CD. The vocals sounded like Hetfield had a grin from ear to ear while singing. The guitars were inferior, the bass playing has me thinking that the Late-Great Cliff Burton is rolling in his grave for the millionth time, and Lars sounds like he's playing on a bunch of soda cans. I can see why Jason Newstead left the band. He heard this crap in it's demo stage, and said "I'm out of hear!!" (Smart move Jason.) Some of you can say that it's just me, but if you talk to the true Metallica fans who were with them back when Kill Em All came out, they are in full agreement with me. Now I hear that Metallica won't be playing most of their older material because they don't want become some lame nostalgic act. After hearing that, I've lost what little respect I had for Metallica after they sold out! I've got news for you guys, those older songs are what put you on the map, and gave you your true die-hard fans that you've now alienated. Was getting the grammy worth losing your true fans? I guess it was, what a shame. Metallica is nothing more than a pathetic hallow shell of their former selves, and I highly recommend that any true metal fan stay away from this CD.
