from Hmmmm, let me turn the light on
Many bands have flopped when they tried to combine rock or metal with an orchestra. This onee is different. First of all: it's a compilation and live album in one (+ a new song). So what else can you want? Second: hats off to the San Francisco Orchestra-they have done wonders to combine their violins with the distorted guitars of metal's most famous band. The songs sound amazing, no question aboiut it-just listen to Master of Puppets and you will see. The orchestra sounds louder than the metal kings. Songs such as Call of Ktulu, Battery and Nothing else matter are just a whole lot different when you add the classical instruments. The whole album would be worth buying even if hte only good song was one-"Hero of the day". THE song of Load has never been better. Period. This album rates right up there with MoP and AJFA as the best MEtallica have ever produced. Before i finish, I should tell you that you should take into account that you get a new song as well-No leaf Clover. Althouhg not amongst the best Metallica have produced, you will surely not program your CD player to skip it. So finally: even if you own all Metallica albums (like me) you should still go out and buy it! No mediocre metal-guaranteed!
