i never would have thought that metallica would do anything like this.it was a brilliant idea.also this is an original idea that metallica must have put alot of time tring to tie the orchestra into their songs. disc 1 1.the ecstasy of gold 4/5 (nice intro to the cd) 2.the call of ktulu 5/5 (i like this version more then the album version) 3.master of puppets 4.5/5 (was james drunk or something? because it sure sounds like it.i do like the drums under the melodic interlude though) 4.of wolf and man 5/5 (kick ass) 5.the thing that should not be 4/5 (what happend to the second verse??) 6.fuel 4.5/5 7.the memory remains 3/5 (james sings the album version of this song waaay differently) 8.no leaf clover 3/5 (ehh.i think this song is "so so",it has its good and bad parts) 9.hero of the day 5/5 10.devils dance 4/5 11.bleeding me 4.5/5 (awesome song, great chorus) disc 2 1.nothing else matters 5/5 (i like the album version more but this version still rocks)2.until it sleeps 4.5/5 (i like this version more then the album version) 3.for whom the bell tolls 5/5 (i like this version just as much or more thenthe album version) 4.-human 4/5 5.where ever i may roam 4.5/5 6.the outlaw torn 5/5 7.sad but true 4/5 (the album version is much better) 8.one 5/5 (the album version is also better but it still rocks) 9.enter sandman 4.5/5 (again, album version much better) 10.battery 5/5 (a great way to end the cd and the orchestra went nicely with this song, the intro sounds different i love it) i think metallica played too much stuff off of load and reload which im not much of a fan of.also they skipped parts of songs.like on master of puppets james singed about half of the song and on the thing that should not be they skipped the 2nd verse completly,if they had played the whole song this version would have been better then the album version.the second disc is alot better then the first disc but its still worth it because of the s&m version of the call of ktulu and a few otherson the first disc.buy this cd if u want to hear metallica "recreate" some of their songs.
