S&M is a truly unique album, combining metallica and the symphony orchestra. It should be recognized even more after the reent death of micheal kamen.. it is a true unique masterpiece.

1. Ecstasy of Gold -A symphony song, serves as a good intro. You probably wont pay much attention to it, but its actually pretty cool. 9/10
2. Call of Ktulu - uhh.. intro part 2? An instrumental from an earlier metallica album that was already conpleted, and brought to perfection here. 9.5/10
3. Master of Puppets - At last, the cd 'starts'. I see no better way to start things off than their masterpiece song.. 10/10
4. Of Wolf and Man - Surprisingly good.. the orchestra really adds something to this song.. 9/10
5. Thing That Should Not Be - The orchestra adds impact instrumentally but where the hell did the second verse go? I see no logical explanation and he didnt just 'forget' ... 8/10
6. Fuel - Not that I liked this song to begin with, its better here. 8.5/10
7. Memory Remains - as i expected, this song is much better on S&M. Seems different, much better. 8.5/10
8. No Leaf Clover - new, unreleased song, rather well done, too.. good volume changes and pretty cool metaphorical chorus. 9.5/10
9. Hero of the Day - mediocore poppy song.. why is it on here? 8/10
10. Devil's Dance - wow, the orchestra really adds a lot here.. just the first few seconds rock.. 10/10
11. Bleeding Me - I dont think it was a good way to end the first disk, but its still well done. 9/10
Disc: 2 (waaaaay better than disk 1)

1. Nothing Else Matters - I dont like hetfield's vocals at first but things really pick up.. the total opposite beginning than disk 1.. awesome. 10/10
2. Until It Sleeps - this song really starts to grow on you, especially the chorus, particularily toward the end of the song. 10/10
3. For Whom the Bell Tolls - o.O wow. while its unfair to compare to compare this to the version on 'ride the lightning' this version rocks! Honestly, there was no better way to complete the almost 2 minute intro than adding the orchestra.. amazing. 10/10
4. Human -same as no leaf clover, unreleased. The verses arent too good, but the chorus is quite catchy. 8/10
5. Wherever I May Roam - theres got to be something i dont see in this song.. ive never liked it in the first place but i dont think its 'bad'. 8/10
6. Outlaw Torn - the longest song on the album, but truly amazing.. 10/10
7. Sad But True- the orchestra, predicably, adds a lot to this slow, heavy song. 10/10
8. One - like many songs, you'd expect this song to be enhanced. And it is, but by the band too. There are some extra lyrics randomly thrown into the solo at the end. 10/10
9. Enter Sandman - Very intrumental song, a lot of energy added to the live version. 10/10
10. Battery - Noticing a trend in the last few songs? While master of puppets version was sort of faster and more energetic theres something to be said about the energy in this one (a 'hell yeah' or two really completed this song) 10/10
