The Greatest Hits/Live album from Metallica

(Rated this album with 10 out of 10)

Many people may not know this album as being a "Live/Greatest Hits" album from Metallica, but rather an adventure. This album I believe has two openers, "The Ecstasy of Gold," introducing you to Michael Kamen's San Fransisco symphony, and an intro to Metallica with their famous instrumental "The Call of Ktulu" from their 2nd album "Ride the Lightning," then starts the brutality. Metallica's thundering Heavy-Metal is all recorded with the same style and sound, so you can forget about what kind of recording quality they used back when they had "Ride the Lightning," or "Master of Puppets" and you can also forget about how the songs from "Load/Re-load" sound as well. I think it is interesting with the orchestra, it has beautifully composed music to fit the mood and atmosphere of each song, the orchestra backs up the solo's, and melodies, without really taking any of Metallica's sound away. The two new tracks on this album, "No Leaf Clover," and "Human" have not been heard by a live audience, or in any Metallica album, but they have been recorded in the same sessions of the "Load/Re-load" era, and are great songs. I don't think I need to go over any more but that and I think this should be in anyones collection, wheather you are a Heavy-Metal fan or not.
