Having grown up AFTER the Metallica generation, I wasn't introduced to this stuff until my sophmore year in high school. Bear in mind that I listen to Johann Sebastian Bach every day and I love classical music. That being said: I LOVE THESE CDS!! The fusion of hard rock and symphonic thunder is flawless. The orchestra accompanies and almost overwhelms the band in several tracks. The intensity in "Master of Puppets" is almost overwhelming, due in part to the orchestra. The two original tracks for this collection are incredible. "No Leaf Clover" contains some beautiful orchestral writing, with the band and orchestra practically playing each other off. The guitar solo in "Master of Puppets" sounds even better than the original. The tracks are engineered to perfection, and the orchestra really adds a new dimension to each piece. It's like hearing them for the first time all over again. The only complaint I personally have is that "Ride the Lightning," my favorite Metallica song, was left out. Otherwise, an awesome collection.
