Ride the Lightning...3 words of pure metal bliss. From the opening chords of Fight Fire With Fire to the last note of The Call of the Ktulu, this album is jammed from top to bottom with some of Metallica's greatest material. It only follows Master of Puppets, but blows anything else by any other metal band out of the water otherwise.The masterful work of Cliff Burton shines on this record, most obviously on the opening bass solo of For Whom the Bell Tolls, as well as Ktulu. Creeping Death is without a doubt an anthemic rock classic of epic proportions. Want heavy? FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE! The song crushes! And then there is Fade to Black...the high point of the album, and my personal favorite song. It is heavy, meaningful, and just masterful. You will not find a more powerful song anywhere! HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!
