Although Kill 'em All wasn't a bad CD, it didn't come close to the next three exceptional albums to come from Metallica. Fight Fire was a great beginning to the album, starting off slow, but going into the speedy metal that would be heard through the rest of this album. Ride the Lightning was...an audio roller coaster. For Whom the Bell Tolls continued to focus on the main theme of the album while adding to the classic Metallica hits. Fade to Black has one of the most frightening beginnings to ever be on a song, and was their best 'ballad' at the time. Because I don't feel like going through the rest, I'll leave you with this; Every song on this album has great riffs, great solos, and requires the listener to actually THINK about what is being said by Hetfield. If you like metal, buy it. If you don't like metal, you should probably buy it anyway, because I'm sure someone you know is just dying to get this as a Christmas gift.
