Yes Cliff and the boys were riding high on the lightning indeed. It's funny when I first heard this album back in 87, I thought Metallica was a 'death' metal band. Hey who could blame me? We got songs here about nuclear war, execution, battle, suicide, drowning, and the Angel of Death himself looking for lamb's blood on the doors during Passover. I'll get some major boos for this one, but I never liked 'Fade to Black'. I'm sorry, to me it was always a sappy, teenage girl, feel sorry for me suicide song. I always skip it, and this album would have been five stars without it.RIP Cliff. The real fans still remember.
