This is what Metallica is. For Whom the Bell Tolls, Ride the Lightning, Fade to Black, Fight Fire with Fire, these are all great songs, and the rest are not mere filler tracks like you will find on Kill Em All and ...And Justice For All. This whole album is pure metal excellency. This album contains guitar riffs ESSENTIAL for learning metal. Unlike so much of the music nowadays where the guitar and bass sound like an indistinguisable mess (cough Linkin Park cough Staind cough Cold), in Metallica, even though they play so fast, you can feel the power and emotion they drained out of their soul and put into every single note. Black Sabbath invented metal, Metallica perfected it, then, much like Samson, cut their hair and it all left (not that I care about their looks at all, but i think its kind of ironic). Essential rock album, and every guitar player should have it in their collection.
