When asked whats my favorite Metallica cd of all time its too hard to choose a specific one kind of like apples and oranges really but this would be my most played Metallica album.Even more so than Master Of Puppets. If I really had to choose what my favorite Metallica album is Id have to say its really a tie between this and Master Of Puppets. For me they are both too similar and too different to say which one I like more.Id say that their best guitar work is on this one but their best vocal work is on Puppets.Puppets had the best instrumental(Orion) but Ride The Lightning had the best actual song(Fade To Black).I think Fight Fire With Fire is a great opener and its a lot like Battery. The title track is to me real similar to Master Of Puppets but it doesnt quiet down on the beginning of the middle it starts out loud and stays there. For Whom The Bell Tolls is a slower one sort of like The Thing That Should Not Be only with better rhythm guitar and equally good lead.Fade To Black sounds a bit like Welcome Home Sanitarium but the subject matter is different(Fade To Black looks at Suicide and Welcome Home Sanitarium is about a plan to escape from an asylum),Trapped Under Ice is not as strong a 5th track as Disposable Heroes on Master but I have to admit the chorus is awesome,Escape to me is very different than Leper Messiah musically and lyrically, the 7th track is an actual song and a classic thrasher at that wheras Orion from Master Of Puppets is an instrumental,The Call Of Ktulu is an instrumental where Damage Inc is the classic thrasher from Master Of Puppets. Thanks for the time.
