If you ask anyone interested in the realms of rock and roll, what they think about Metallica, it's most certainly going to come back to this album. Already one of the hottest bands in rock history, Metallica made it's name with ...And Justice for All and Master of Puppets, but where they solidified their taste value and made their name a household thing...is this one.Everyone knows 'Enter Sandman', with it's catchy chorus, the memorable lyrics, and insane imagery. Everyone also remembers the beautiful 'Nothing Else Matters', the rock ballad that started anything METAL TO SOFT today. Then there's 'Unforgiven', the lyrically genius aftermath that spells success in Metallica's roots. I mean, everything is here. This is the album where you sit down and say, alright, Metallica can do this. This is also the album most radio stations play, just look at the tracks. This album is prolific. Although fading very much so today, the band can be traced back to their classics...and this is one of them. Much like Nirvana's Nevermind, Metallica's self titled album paved many roads for modern rock today. If you ask me, this is probably one of the most necessary albums to have in your collection. Even if you don't like Metallica, you'll like this. I know mother's, my drummer's mother to be exact, who to this day, listen to this album. If that doesn't tell you about the wide spectrum of people this accompanies, then I don't know what will. While not a major fan of the band, I can safely say after listening, I didn't rush and buy everything else, but I still pop it in every once and awhile.
