I remember back in 1991, when I started getting into the heavier kinds of metal and it all started with this album. But before I ever got this album, I already heard of Metallica before. Many kids in my middle school were wering their shirts. Plus, I would see albums like Kill 'Em All advertized in Columbia House adds placed in magazines. At the time, I was just a conservative God believer with limited metal knowledge just avoiding anything satanic like any God believer would do. I was never a reckless, rebellious teenager but I was just a youngster who didn't know to much about life.

Anyway, I heard of Metalllica before until I saw the original video for One on an MTV countdown in late summer of '91 but it wasn't until I saw Metallica on the 1991 MTV Music Awards preforming Enter Sandman. After that, I was hooked. Than, a friend from school let me barrow this album on cassette. When I took it home and listened to it, it was a divine moment that I would never forget. Every song on the album blew me away. So I bought the album the following year and the rest is history.

Now for my review. My opinion on this album hasn't changed since the first time I heard it and I don't think it ever will. Every single song still has the same appeal it had years ago. This is an album with plenty of heavy, brutal, thrashing, smashing, pulverizing riffs, fast, medium and slow parts and many majic moments. Some of the best song are Sad But True, Hollier Than Thou, Wherever I May Roam, Don't Tread On Me, Through The Never, Of Wolf And Man, The God That Failed and The Struggle Within. Buy this album and prepare for a rollercoaster ride. You'll love it.
