Ok I began listening to metal in 1993 when i began listening to a lot of music period. i bought this album in august that year and instantly realized that this band rocks. I then bought all their previous albums like kill em all, ride the lightning (my personal favorite}, master of the puppets, and justice for all. I must say this collection of Metallica is by far enough for me to at one time call this my favorite ban. I started collecting their t-shirts and what not. -KILL THEM ALL (1983) great thrash debut from the band real edgy and riff oriented speed metal -RIDE THE LIGHTNING (1984) my favorite true deep and personal album from the band. really showed what a great metal band should be. -MASTER OF PUPPETS (1986) same style as ride the lightning with lots of emotion and good pace metal. RIP Cliff Burton -AND JUSTICE FOR ALL (1988) Good metal, starting to conform a little but still a great overall metal album And finally -METALLICA "BLACK" ALBUM (1991) progressive in style but still hints of the roots of metallica. their last masterpiece, everything after this besides their garage days cd of the 2 disc set (Garage INC) ended what true metal was and ruined their rep as a True Metal band, the 5 first main albums and Garage inc is the only true Metallica collection the rest is worth denying.
