After so many years the material on this cd has stayed fantastic and original since day one. An excellent cd that spawned many favourites such as Jump In the Fire, Four Hoursemen, Metal Militia and Whiplash. For such a young age, Metallica showed skills rarely exhibited by men much older and more experienced than them. Hetfield's vocals are fantastic, angry, young (and non-whiney) and his rhythm guitar is extremely fast, remembering that it's all downpicked and the riffs are fantastic.Lars drums pretty good, it's pretty hard to play some of those songs and the drums sound great. Kirk Hammet and his awesome solos just rip away everything before them, he was and still is one of the best metal...no, one of the best GUITARISTS in general. Cliff Burton delivers an awesome performance on this album, the bass is very thick and audible and very technical. He remains one of my favourite bassist, not because he's dead, because he's fantastic. Better than Rob and Jason put together. Most of the songs are good and easily the greatest things about this cd are the riffs and solos. Metallica solos have always been the best and their riffs are just awesome, stick-in-your-head-all-decade catchy, technical and overall just well written riffs. Every songs is very fast and practically revolutionised metal in general. Better than Slayer, Anthrax AND Megadeth, although all four were awesome. The production isn't half as bad as people have been making it out to be although the volume could have been a bit louder. Nice and raw sounding, it beats the hell out of most other production of the time. A very catchy record, something you won't regret buying and something that you could get relatively cheap at discount record stores, as it's well known and isn't something you will have to go to an independent record store to buy. So whats the deal? Buy it today! You don't like it? Go to hospital, I fear for your life young man, you may have a brain tumour.... Peace Metalheads!!
