Metallica released Kill 'em All with none of the fanfare or expectations that Metallica albums hold. Being their first album, Metallica's musical immaturety is evident but so is there vast talent. While many of the individual parts (i.e. guitar rifts or singing) are quite impressive, the transitions are natably bad. In "Hit the Lights" I feel like there are almost two songs going on with the singing and the abrupt entrance of a solo. Tihs being said, any lover of thrash will love the album. There is more energy in these songs than any other release of Metallica's, and its momentum holds until the end of the album. You may not want to listen to this as often as Metallica's following three albums, but Kill 'Em All is still quite a debut album.
