Nowadays the metal community is,sadly,overflowing with horrible and sorry excuses for rock n roll.With a few good bands remaining (i.e Ozzy,Motorhead,Iron Maiden,Slayer etc)unfortunately thrash metal gods Metallica have joined the list of metal sell-outs and wanna-be's.With St.Anger , Metallica's latest, being a record which is utterly crap I have decided to review one of their finest ever albums put out.....KILL 'EM ALL.
With a young and angry Metallica,a cover and an album title that screams METAL !!, this album packs a wallop. This is what Metallica were about before the money, putting out Rock N' Roll that kicks all A** !!. Onwards to the review : 1. Hit The Lights - An ode to the live Metallica gigs this one is an awesome thrasher featuring killer solos from Kirk Hammet.
A+ 2. Four Horsemen - This is a brutal thrash song, co-written by Dave Mustaine of Megadeth which garuntees a metal classic. A+ 3. Motorbreath - Starts with a great drumbeat then the guitars kick in...OH HELL YEAH !. A much better song about high speed than their song Fuel . A 4. jump In The Fire - Good Metal track...for some strange reason it doesn't do any wonders for me. B+ 5.(Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth - An awesome bass solo done by Cliff Burton (RIP). Really shows off his talent here. A+ 6. Whiplash - This is what Metallica WERE metalheads...fast loud and angry ! with some killer solos from Kirk Hammet this is a definite highlight on this album. A+ 7. Phantom Lord - My all time fav. on this record...great lyrics,awesome bass and vocals,great drums and SHREDDING GUITAR sends this one over the top...i think its abt the apocalypse A+++++
8. No Remorse - Does what it says....shows no remorse. It starts with an awesome solo and then goes into a frickin heavy set of riffs that will make your ears bleed !!.
A+ 9. Seek & Destroy - Although this is a great thrash song and possibly amongst the classics of Metallica...it fails to grasp my listening attention. B- 10. Metal Militia - A call-to-arms for metalheads ?...OH HELL F***IN YEAH !!!....the perfect album closer for this thrash classic. A++ So what the hell are you waintin for ?? STOP RIGHT NOW AND GET THIS METAL MASTERPIECE !!!...although it is heavily underrated and overshadowed by Master Of Puppets and Ride The Lightning...which are admittingly very awesome. You should definitely buy this if you are a metal fan or a metallica fan. Skip 90,s Metallica and get this. this is actually heavier than Master !! Also Reccomended :
