OK, this was a good cover album these boys made, it is what led the beginning to the thought that metallica are pretty much out of good ideas to make anymore of their own great albums, so they'll give us an idea on some of the bands they were influenced by. Lets start with disc one, we have the radio friendly's turn the page and whiskey in the jar. Musically, its great, outstanding. Vocally, my God hetfield, dont try to sound like the singers, use your own vocal style like you had on the justice album, and lose this irish accent you have going on.

Its a shame they didnt keep the influence of all these great british metal bands that inspired them like they once had in the 80's, oh well. I gotta say disc 2 is much better vocally, even though hetfield's vocals are more mature and deeper then they used to be, its too much the same, this yea, yea, screaming over and over again, enough already. Also, why the hell didnt they cover any maiden songs? Maiden was the top influence they had aside from Motorhead, I mean even though im sure the vocals wouldve been bad, still wouldve been nice to hear em cover some maiden classics, that way you couldve maybe heard jason's or cliff's(RIP) bass a hell of alot better. Oh well, id say stick with the garage days revisited cd, which would be disc 2 for this, and minus the vocals on disc 1, it wouldve rocked. I say this though, all you posers out there thinking metallica is so amazing, get into the bands they were influenced by, you will be saved, and youll see that real metal is still out there. That is all.
