The cover albums are many times simply the fillers in band's discography between their regular albums."Garage inc" is definitly not a filler.new versions of old (or not so old) songs that somehow inspired Metallica during their career are very good and interesting.from the blowing "Free speach for the dumb" up to few motorhead covers on second disc Metallica gives us whole bunch of styles.Misfit's punk,rock ballads,heavy metal roar and melodic hard rock.this variety is nothing else that they have did before or later. i love these new varsions of songs like "Last carees/green hell","Sabra caddabra","Whisky in the jar" (Thin Lizzy's classic) or "loverman" (Originaly performed by Nick Cave who has nothing to do wiht metal music...).album not deserves more that 4 stars because all in all it is not their brand new music anyway but these 4 stars are for amazing performances that are all here.hard rhythm section,heftield's deep vocals and hammet's fast solos are simply irresistible.of course this is not the classic Metallica from early years or Black album era but what the hell...i like it!
