Okay first things first it is hard to beat Master Of Puppets but the best moments here like on One and Frayed Ends Of Sanity equal anything on Master except for Orion.Secondly I think the only 2 albums Ive heard that are better than Metallica's Master Of Puppets are Sgt Pepper by The Beatles and Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd.Okay now on with the songs here.Blackened is a great opener I think it starts out more like Hit The Lights but the song as a whole is really more similar to Fight Fire With Fire and Battery. And Justice For All and Eye Of The Beholder are great songs but nothing on here beats the bands first song that was played on MTV(the song One).It starts out like Sanitarium and Fade To Black but ends up sounding more like Creeping Death. It has some of Kirk's best lead guitar playing and some of Lars best drumming(yeah I know it sounds tinny but its still great),Shortest Straw sounds a lot like the direction they were heading in before they released the Black Album and Harvester Of Sorrow is a very dark and disturbing song. Its so disturbing Ive had nightmares about it no lie.Frayed Ends Of Sanity is a very excellent and aggressive song,To Live Is To Die is a beautiful instrumental with great rhythm guitar and bass playing and Dyers Eve is an excellent closer. The only real problem with this album is that the production is not that good. The rhythm playing isnt as good as previous efforts but it makes up for it with some of James' best vocal work.
