From the slow, lamentful drumbeats that introduce "One" to the crashing anger of "Harvester of Sorrow" this album showcases the most innovative metal band of all time at their best. The album starts out with the relatively tame "Blackened" which, although the lyrics are strong, feels too long and could have more interesting guitars. My personal favorite is "One" not so much because of the music, although it's the usual high quality Metallica stuff, but rather because it perfectly encapsulates everything that an album with the name "...And Justice For All" should.
