After the death of Cliff Burton, new replacement Jason Newsted steps in, and does a fine job. James' voice is better than ever, sounds better than the past. Lars drums sound better than the past, and Kirk takes it to the next level. This album moves from the messages of death to the anti-justice system of America. The definate highlights of "Justice" are Blackened, One and The Shortest Straw. The only song that may seem a little repetitive is The Frayed Ends Of Sanity. Eye Of The Beholder is actually one of the middle songs, like Harverster Of Sorrow. The title-track is the main song for this thing, of course.Here's the songs, again: 1)Blackened(6:41): The best of the three openers (Fight Fire With Fire, Battery, Blackened). The only song that Jason co-wrote. C'mon guys, give Jason a little more chance than that. Anyway, Blackened has the best riff, and is the 2nd fastest song on the CD, next to Dyers Eve. The lyrics are beyond amazing, the guitars are better than ever, making the tempo changes better. Blackened is my 3rd favourite song on the album. 5/5 2)...And Justice For All(9:45): Another good title-track, not as good as Master Of Puppets, but it still kicks ass. The best song to describe the anti-justice system. The only problem is, it's too long, it's 9 and 3 quarter minutes. But the lyrics are cool. The instruments play their part good here, but not as well as Blackened. 5/5 3)Eye Of The Beholder(6:25): In the middle type of song. It's in the good music category of this album. Very good song, better than The Thing That Should Not Be from "Puppetz". It's not good enough for Metallica's top 20, but it's a damn good songs, the highlight of this song would be the lyrics here. 4/5 4)One(7:23): Now, I'm impressed by this song, their first(EVER) single, and the first song they did a music video for, it's a cool song. The fast guitars at the end are very awesome, but it's also a melodic song, more melodic than Sanitarium, but can't beat Fade To Black in that game. Still, the band put a lot of effort into One. My favourite song from "Justice". 6/5 5)The Shortest Straw(6:35): 2nd best song on the album. The guitar work is phenominal, and you can't imagine how good the drums were played. "In Vertigo you'll be" That line from the song is a little confusing, but I like it. Nice job on The Shortest Straw. 5/5 6)Harvester Of Sorrow(5:45): A very good song, but not a personal favourite. It beats The Frayed Ends Of Sanity, but that's it. Eye Of The Beholder is better. But still, Harvester is better than most things from Master Of Puppets, like The Thing That Should Not Be, Leper Messiah and Damage Inc. Oh well, it's cool. 4/5 7)The Frayed Ends Of Sanity(7:40): Unfortunately, my least favourite on the album. Still a little good, I mean, it's just too long and repetitive. On a bright note, it's better than Escape and Leper Messiah. Frayed Ends just doesn't fit me. 3/5 8)To Live Is To Die(9:48): Nice to have something with Cliff in "Justice". This beats Orion and ties with The Call Of Ktulu. Well, it might not be an instrumental, because Cliff actually says some words somewhere near the very end, but still, it has the potential of being an instrumental. And halfway through (4:28-6:47), is the saddest point of the song. So awesome. 5/5 And we come to the closer: 9)Dyers Eve(5:12): Shortest song on the album, and a good one at that. Never disappoints. The fastest song on the album, surpassing Blackened. Pretty cool for the shortest song, even at 5:12. About your parents giving you grief. Essential to listen to when you're parents are putting you down. It's a legendary song. 4.5/5 And that's "Justice" for you, pick up this and "Lightning" as well, the 2 best Metallica albums. Buy NOW!
