Way back in 1991 I was introduced to Manowar and their incredible Kings of Metal CD. that was 11 years ago, and the band was already over a decade old!

Manowar has never caught on here in America, and it's because of their 'cheesy' lyrics about honor in death, Vikings, and other Medieval topics. Their music, however, is old-fashioned metal and for those who take the time to *listen* and not just react, Manowar is one of the most impressive bands out there.

Since they've never been big in America, I don't know how well the band does financially. To the CD buyer - it doesn't matter. Manowar negotiates their own contracts with labels. They built their own studio, and once you pop in the latest CD, you'll know they spent GOBS of money in production.

So, what about the music? I have to admit, it took me one listen all the way through to think "What was THAT?". Then, I realized, the ballads, the opera, the slower songs, the trilogy, and the heavy songs are all *powerful* and work well together! What you're left with is an *awesome* album from a great band!!
