Lets see 22 years of True Metal - absolutely!! Unfortunately there are only so many songs you can write about doom, glory, steel, blood, killing, dying, hell etc. - you get the picture without dropping the entertainment ball. Just like hard rockers AC/DC this band are one horse (metal) trick and they need to back it up with excellent musical riffing/licks. Sure this album has he production we've come to expect from recent Manowar efforts but the sparkle isn't quite there. Maybe its 'new-boy' Karl Logan's somewhat unimaginative soloing and riffs (compared to Louder than Hell: Stars = *****) this time round or maybe Eric's vocals, as powerful as ever, just aren't getting creating those ultimate choruses we love to chant. Whatever the case new fans should look at 'Fighting the World' and 'Kings of Metal' for that classic Manowar fix. Only die hards should digest this one with fond memories of earlier efforts. Play the best of it on TEN!!!
