This is one of Manowar's best albums, period. It has songs that go into every kind of sound from their entire career from Call to Arms which has their trademark Pounding triplets (which Bathory and others later used) which they haven't really used too much since Sign of the Hammer, epic classical compositions on the scale of Kings of Metal, and speedy firestorms of pure metal like those found on the second half of Louder than Hell. All in all, yes there is almost a half hour of what many term "filler" but I found this section to be the best "Classical" stuff theyve ever done. I love the Elvis "cover" An American Trilogy, it almost brings me to tears with its beauty and Eric Adams is the star of the show on this album. He sings better than he has for years instead of growling or grunting his way thru an album (like Louder Than Hell, which I also love but obviously not as much as this), and the production is a step up from previous ones as well. No bass solos or guitar solos (other than in the songs that is), just pure melody and power. It all concludes with "Fight Until We Die" a fast stormer. One new thing is that much of the album is in "D" tuning, kind of like some of Hail to England. I didn't expect an album of this magnitude during this stage of their career and I am honestly shocked on how good this release is. ...
