When I first heard this record back in 1985, I was totally blown away.Although produced poorly(It was not released on a major record label)The originality and musicianship of this band was unbelievable.Compared to their first record "Battle Hymns" Which in itself is a Classic, They took their sound to a new level.Songs like "Gates of Valhalla", "Revelations" and my personal favorite "March for Revenge" blew me away, to the point where I just had to tell other people about this. This album compared to their first album dealt more with mythological topics and had a darker/gloomier sound. Each musician is brilliant and each play their own distinctive style. But my favorite part of this band is definitely vocalist Eric Adams. Just listen to him sing in the opening of "Gates of Valhalla" and you'll see what I mean. It amazes me that someone with his talent isn't more well known. There isn't a singer out there in "Popular Music that could shine his shoes. I recommend this record to any Heavy Metal/Hard Rock fan or just anyone who appreciates good music.Fortunately, a remastered version has just been released and of course I had to go and buy a copy to see the difference in sound and it sounds Great! Go and buy this CD! In fact go and buy all of their stuff!
