Turbo

Awesome album but different

On 1976's Sad Wings Of Destiny, Judas Priest recorded a track called Victim Of Changes. In an ironic twist of fate a decade later, that's what they became. By 1986 the glam/hair metal movement was in its prime. Always ready to try something new, the band began experimenting, combining that style with their own, and using synthesizers. What emerged? Turbo. If you like glam metal (and I do) AND Judas Priest, this album gives you the best of both worlds. If you only like one or the other, you could be disappointed. Now, on to this album's tracks:

Turbo Lover - Rocker with an awesome beat and slower vocal delivery, this is the perfect glam/Priest fusion song. A+

Locked In - Light rocker with interesting instrument experimentation. A

Private Property - Light rocker with some good vocal delivery. A

Parental Guidance - Another lighter track, this one a classic tale of rebellion.

Rock You All Around The World - Back to the heavy stuff. This is the closest thing on the album to a "normal" Priest song, but it's still far enough that it will disappoint some long-time fans. A

Out In The Cold - Interesting track in which the band's instrument usage is at its best. A+

Wild Nights, Hot & Crazy Days - Mid-fast tempo similar to Poison's Nothin' But A Good Time. If you like glam metal you will love this. A+

Hot For Love - Another glam-inspired rocker, but it pales in comparison to the previous track. A

Reckless - Yet another glam-inspired track that proves to be a pretty good one. A

BONUS TRACKS

All Fired Up - Lighter hard rocker with an epic sound. Worth a listen. A

Locked In - See above for review of this track. A

Those looking for an interesting sort of glam-fusion metal album, this is your dream come true. Those wanting JP's all out hard rocking metal assault with an attitude (best demonstrated on British Steel) are gonna be left Out In The Cold. This is an album you will either love or hate. I happen to fall into the "love" category, but you might think differently.
