from under the rubble
OK, it was indeed meant to be a double album, nixed by the record company "geniuses". All I can think of is what could / should have been. "Turbo" is a Priest anomaly. Not heavy enough for hardcore fans. Not light enough for pop-metal folks. This was an experiment gone awry. "Turbo Lover" is a good solid song. A great intro to a hit and miss disc. The problem is, that without the other songs (now spread all over the place on different CDs) from the original project, cool tunes like "Locked In", "Out In The Cold", and "Reckless" are overshadowed by hollow sounding fluff like "Private Property" and "Parental Guidance". While not as bad as other "metal" from the same period, "Turbo" suffers from an anemic lack of the power. I'd recommend it only to completists like me. Hey, it's still better than most of the powder-puff metal of the 80s...
