I have grown to like Judas Priest just slightly more than Iron Maiden because they really got the ball rolling on the New Wave of British Heavy Metal before it even was called that. And this album is proof. Hints of what would be found on well-oiled masterpieces such as "Hell Bent For Leather," "Stained Class," and "British Steel" are right here, folks. While other metal bands such as Uriah Heep, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Grand Funk were starting to plateau creatively and commercially, here was a hungry, up and coming band, that by this time had already developed their distinctive sound that would evolve over the next decade. That band was Judas Priest. This album has aged rather well, and long may it continue to do so.
