Hi......first of all I must say that I just don't get it why so many people who love priest's work seem to think this album as their worst. Nothing could be farther from the truth!!!! (well, maybe sth could, but let's not get into that) R&R is an album I enjoy immensely, it has a couple of memorable songs on it. "Run of the mill" is one of my favourite Priest-tracks ever....one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've heard. Other thing I don't get is people saying how 'stylistically different' this album is compared with subsequent releases. The title track and "Better by you better than me" from Staned class could easily switch places and nobody would notice. Err....I mean if this had been done in the 70's. Aforementioned "Run of the mill", as well as "Never satisfied" (another quality track) could easily be from "Sad wings of destiny". The third track is really haunting.....not that strong as a piece of music but definitely disturbing at times. One final point: Priest's lyrics are often put down as not-that-intelligent-cartoon-like-crap-for-teenagers, but many of their songs have truly great lyrics, beautiful and sorrowful. I love the atmosphere on Priest's 2 first albums, it's sad in an amazingly beautiful way. If only these 2 albums were a bit heavier :). But you can't have all. May Priest keep on defending the Faith for years to come!
