I have to admit I laughed when a friend invited me to go see the Priest here in Fort Worth late last year. After Rob left and they dropped off the radar screen in the early '90's, I had sadly written the Priest off. I'm glad to say they're back with a vengeance! The concert was unbelievably intense, definitely the best I've seen, and this album is a perfect representation. It's very live and very raw. Ripper brings a much-needed "new school" presence to the band. His interpretations of the old stuff are superb; "Victim of Changes" is particularly spine-chilling. He even makes the lame crap from the "Jugulator" album acceptable. (Side note: "Burn in Hell" and "Abductors" are good, but the rest of Jugulator should be called Stinkulator). Small nitpicks with Meltdown: I didn't think the mix was quite as clean as "Priest:Live", and I like Halford's rendition of "The Sentinel" better. Nonetheless, this is the best live album I've heard, and a must-have for the Priest fan. Get it!!!
