Personally, I believe that the best Metal bands will never die, only posers and wimps will. But Judas Priest seemed to need something to carry them into the future of Metal in a way Rob Halford just couldn't. Anyone who thinks ol' Robbie was a better vocalist than Owens should just imagine how much weaker Jugulator would sound if Halford was still with the band. This album rules, and The Ripper is just what Judas Priest needed to bring them roaring (and screaming) toward the next Heavy Metal revolution.
