Jugulator is just what heavy metal needed. A brutal shot in the arm. It's loud, fast, and intense, yet is still great to listen to. It's the heaviest Priest album and "Ripper" Owens fills Rob's shoes very well. Priest has always kept up with the times and they hadn't recorded an album in seven years. They had a lot of agression and they put that agression to good use. "Death Row," "Dead Meat," and "Blood Stained" are all excellent. And then there's "Cathedral Spires," the masterpiece of the album. Clocking in at nine minutes, this song joins "Beyond the Realms of Death" and "Victim of Changes" as two of my favorite epic Priest tunes. "Bullet Train" and "Burn in Hell" are very good too. I think that the lyrics on "Abductors" and "Decapitate" are meant as jokes- they're too outrageous to take seriously. Overall, this album is a great effort!
