Well, after Jugulator (a cd so bad it caused me to go temporarally insane), Demolition is a notch upwards instrumentally. A little more of the melody is back, which is welcome from the band that has written some of the catchiest metal songs in history. But, unfortunately, Priest's glory days are far behind them. They have gone from being true innovators to being a kind of wet noodle copy of Pantera and a host of other melodically-challenged thrash bands. And Tim "Ripper" Owens does not help one iotta. He tries to sound tough and menacing, but it comes out laughable. Halford wrote, and is STILL writing, some of the best comic book metal poetry of all time. Plus, he has the ability to deliver his lyrics with conviction. Ripper simply sounds like a pre-schooler trying to B.S. his way out of playground fight. Sad, because this is a band that can still play and has all of the potential to put out a good album. However, they have become hopelessly out of touch. Go back to what you know guys, and stop embarassing me. Please!
