HERE IS THE REAL THING

Here's what I see as the clear truth about Judas Priest's new phase. I've watched them play live in my city some days ago. Here follows the set list of the songs they playeed that night (September 7, in São Paulo - Brazil). The songs are not in the order they played it:
* From BRITISH STEEL (1980) - Metal Gods, Breaking the Law, United, Living After Midnight
* From SCREAMING FOR VENGEANCE (1982) - Eletric Eye, You've Got Another THing Comin
* From PAINKILLER (1991) - Touch of Evil, Painkiller
* From SAD WINGS OF DESTINY (1976) - Victim of Changes, The Reaper
* From POINT OF ENTRY (1981) - Heading out to The Highway
* From HELL BENT FOR LEATHER - THe Green Manalishi, Hell Bent for Leather
* From STAINED CLASS - Beyond the Realms of Death
* From ROCKA ROLLA - Diamonds and Rust
* From JUGULATOR - Burn in Hell, Blood Stained
* From DEMOLITION - Machine Man and another I can't remember right now.

So, here we go.

Firstly, it must be made clear that this guy Tim Owens is simply amazing, one of the best metal singers ever. He sings what he wants when he wants, he can make every subtle change in tone and rhythm, he can sample Halford when he wants, he can be his own voice when he wants. His stage performance is also perfect, not exxagerated nor too simple, is the perfect mixture.

Havin I said it, I just ask you: why Priest played only four Ripper Owens's phase songs in their set? Clearly, because they know what their public wants. If they sensed that their public was totally satisfied with the "GLENN TIPTON'S JUDAS PRIEST", they would have certainly take more chances into putting more new material in their live set. But they did not. The fact is that the new Priest is trying to hard to immitate, instead of leading as they've always done. DEMOLITION is not a bad album, but just another product in the market that will have a premature death in sales and will be forgotten in the minds of Priest fans.
