I don't know why all the old school Priest fans keep slagging Ripper off. HALFORD IS HISTORY, OKAY? Like JUGULATOR, this doesn't really sound like classic Priest, but who cares? Why would they want to sound like they did 20 years ago? At least they're still heavy. Ripper gets an opportunity to display his vocal range here and there are some great tracks, my faves being HELL IS HOME, ONE ON ONE, FEED ON ME and METAL MESSIAH. Also good are IN BETWEEN and CLOSE TO YOU which was written by Glenn Tipton about his father, who died when this album was being made. I'm looking forward to all their future releases, I guess all you Halford [fans] must be stuck in an eighties time warp or something. Maybe if you played your LP of SCREAMING FOR VENGEANCE backwards you could hear Halford croon FRANKIE SAY RELAX. But what would I know? I've got SFV on cassette.
