This marked Maiden's height of success and creativity and belongs in the same sentence as 'Powerslave' and 'Number of the Beast.' '7th Son' was Maiden's first all out concept album. The album is based on the mythical figure "The seveth son of a seventh son" and explores life, death, and the afterlife. The album kicks off with Moonchild, one of their best openers. The next song is Infinite Dreams which starts off slow and builds to an incredible series of solos. Can I Play With Madness was the first of four hit songs peaking at no. 3. Probably the best song is The Evil That Men Do, an incredible mixture of guitars and lyrics. The 9-plus minute epic title track is next and the album peaks there. The Prophecy and The Clairvoyant follow and the lead to the album closer Only The Good Die Young. Many didn't like this album cause it used keyboard and was a little more commercial that previous albums. But this was Maiden's third best album if you ask me(behind Powerslave and Number of the Beast) and it is also their grandest album as far as capturing a vision completely. This one is a definite buy.
