Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son

Some of the Best - some of the worst ( 3,5 )

1.MOONCHILD - one of the best maiden songs ever, a real cool opener. This one screams "Play me Live".

2.INFINITE DREAMS - a highlight on this Album. Untypical for Maiden and still heavy and catchy. I love it. Bruce Vocals rule once again!

3.CAN I PLAY WITH MADNESS - the first negative aspect on this album. did maiden try to get more radio airplay? It's not my cup of Tea. Even the diahard fans ( as I think I am one ) should realize that something has changed! This song is cool on the live records, but for me it sounds like a cover version ( sorry to all you lovers of this one )

4.THE EVIL THAT MEN DO - The same as track one, hear it and love it! This is truely Maiden, raw and heavy but with incredible melody and a refrain I'm looking forward to sing when I see them live soon!

5.SEVENTH SON OF A SEVENTH SON it starts of as a Maiden classic that has some sort of STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND to it. but the last part is boring and uneccessary. Good for any other Band but medicore for Maiden.

6.THE PROPHECY the worst one of this album. I don't know how to explain my point of view but perhaps somebody out there won't pull the "not helpful" bottom and think "what's this guy talking about?". It's just miles away from maiden's class.

7.THE CLAIRVOYANT the album gets up again! The great thing about some of Maiden's songs is that they are actually very complex and by no means easily-structured, but you just don't note it because they are so great!

8.ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG my personal favorite on this album. It has a really uncomfortable feeling and sends shivers down my spine.If the whole Album would be as good as this , Seventh Son would easily be a second Number of the Beast in a different vain.

I also dig the lyrics, even if I can't see the concept behind them. ( maybe because I'm not english )
