I must admit that I was a little worried about this album. I saw this tour in San Antonio and it was a very subpar show, from a band known for it's live performance. The first problem was the choice of the set list. The band could have left out Dream of Mirrors and The Sign of the Cross, especially since at the show they did not play Run to the Hills. Secondly, the show production was terrible. Not even close to the Live After Death show. It seemed thrown together and lacked professional quality. The band seemed a little too relaxed about needing to impress the crowd and the crowd really picked up on it. The Ed Hunter tour was a barn burner, but the Brave New world tour just lacked the same intensity. There was no giant Eddie at the end, and all Bruce did was complain about all the new bands out there. It was very annoying. A terrible performance. With this said, I was worried that this album would be as bad as the job on A Real Dead One. To my surprise, this is a very good live album. The sound quality is good, with the exception of some muddy rhythm guitars. Nicko's drums sound great. The song Blood Brothers really stands out and is better than the original recording. Bruce breathes new life into The Clansman, and now it is one of my favorite Maiden songs. Nicko gets a little sloppy in The Trooper. Overall, a good live album.
