Rock in Rio brings us yet another live album from "Eddie and the boys". I wrote it off at first as another scam for cash like the "reissues" of "reissues" that are currently being sold, but then when I gave into temptation and actually bought the album, I was in for a surprise. This is probably the best document of live Maiden with Dickinson, possibly the best live Maiden since the out of print "Maiden Japan" (which I have on a bonus disk from the Castle reissues a few years back). Bruce really hits most of the high notes this times, and doesn't growl and screech like on LAD. Also, it has more of a live feel, maybe a bit too off the cuff especially when Janick or even Dave sometimes play a solo differently. Either way, I can't reccomend a live album more highly than this.
