Powerslave is the first album I heard off Iron Maiden and it is my second favorite Maiden Record(my first being Seventh Son of a Seventh Son). Almost everyone who will listen to the first Track(Aces High)will desperately want to here more. Aces High is fast, heavy, and energetic which sets up the style of the rest of the album. This and every other album of Iron Maiden seems to have the track list set up perfectly. Two Minutes to Midnight is another great song off the band but it does take a few listens to really sink in. For some weird reason I didn't really like the song until the second time I heard. Now I think it is one of the best songs off maiden.. Flash of the blade is a good song but it's kind of different from the rest of the tracks. The only Mediocre song on the album was Back in the Village, and the Duellist didn't exactly match Maiden's standards either. On the other hand, the song Powerslave is a very deep and heavy song which is full of imagery and dark lyrics. The last song of the album is Rime of the Ancient Mariner. This is a really good song but it last about thirteen minutes. The first four minutes and the last five minutes are good but the rest is just not necessary. The length of this song is what keeps it from being my favorite Iron Maiden song ever. I still can't believe they played it in concert.
