In Metal history there have been bands like Judas Priest, Metallica, Megadeth and Motorhead which gave direction to the future of where the genre was headed. But none of them have been as heavily influential and revered, feared, and respected as Iron Maiden. The reasons are not hard to find. Listen to "Powerslave" and you'll know why. Each track explodes with sophisticated, precise guitarwork, drum and vocal symphony that has been worked on, fine tuned and crafted to perfection. Smith and Murray are arguably the finest guitar duo to ever walk this planet. Steve Harris' bass playing is some of the finest you've ever listened to in the history of metal. Not to mention the incredible vocals of Dickinson and the maniacal drumming of Nicko Mcbrain. I listened to this album for the first time when I was in high school and till date I've not found a single record, disc, tape or performance that rivals this from any artiste. My only regret is Maiden hasnt announced any plans for a tour of India. We've had Purple play here and the Scorps. I dont see a reason why the Masters themselves shouldn't descend on my land.
